I just saw the band Born Gold on Thursday night, opening for Grimes in the basement of a church in Philly...I will just tell you, I was not prepared for what happened that night. Born Gold started playing and a mind-blowing light show ON a motorcycle jacket along masked dancers waving oversized hand-fans filled the room. The night was epic...and of course Grimes was amazing and every bit as magical as her new album!
On my GOOD-NESS, we are SOOOOO excited to announce that we are doing a blog collab with our friend Heather Caye, a designer for Urban Outfitters and the queen of karaoke and dancing on command! AHHHH!!!
She is going to be our permanent guest blogger on Sundays and she is going to wow you with the latest bands, her favorite music and reviews of the zillions of concerts she attends!!
We are so stoked that she decided to do this with us!!
A little background and fun facts on Heather:
•She attended her first concert on her 8th birthday and witnessed the legendary NKOTB!!
•Obsessed with karaoke, her go-to's are "Shoop" by Salt n Pepa, Prince's "Darling Nikki" and "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot.
•She is a sucker for bass guitarists. According to her "not on purpose, it just happens that way!"
"My latest obsession is the Brooklyn based pop group Friends...While getting my schedule ready for SXSW this year, I saw that they were playing after Class Actress, so of course my curiosity led me to look them up. What I found is a girl-fronted fresh band that makes you want to dance!
Being named BBC's "Sound of 2012", along with joining Neon Indian on part of the North American tour, this band is destined to funk-pop their way into the hearts of anyone who wants to have some fun!"
